Mission
Private flight is sold through incompatible metaphors: hours on a card, shares on a metal, seats on a shuttle, turns at an FBO. Travelers and flight departments deserve a single, plain-language scorecard. That scorecard is the Charter Index Score.
Independence
The Private Jet Index does not sell sponsored rankings, paid review placement, or “featured partner” slots in editorial lists. v1 pages may include illustrative placeholder scores and composite quotes clearly marked as such while the live evidence pipeline matures.
Charter Index Score
Every deep review reports an overall Charter Index Score on a 0–10 scale, built from shared core bars plus a few product-specific bars:
- Support — desk responsiveness, disruption handling, after-hours coverage.
- Value — all-in economics relative to alternatives in the same category.
- Flexibility — schedule, aircraft, and route optionality under real constraints.
- Reliability — fulfillment consistency and operational maturity.
- Booking clarity — whether quotes, rules, and fees are intelligible before money moves.
Product-specific bars (for example global coverage, interchange access, or fee transparency) sit beside the core five so category quirks are visible without breaking cross-category reading.
What we do not do
- We do not invent “Source: Trustpilot” attributions. Sample voices are labeled Illustrative composite unless a future edition cites a primary source.
- We do not use stock cabin photography as evidence of quality.
- We do not treat empty-leg marketing discounts as equivalent to confirmed charter rates.
